Northern and Southern Spheres, 2009
Northern and Southern Spheres reference through both their titles and the data applied in their creation, the dates of the most widely recognised Earth Summits in the public sphere as of 2009:
1992 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
1997 Kyoto, Japan;
2009 Copenhagen, Denmark.
These dates are not simply markers of time, but are embedded within the structure of the works as points of intersection between ecological reality and political intention.
By incorporating these moments of international environmental dialogue, the series draws attention to the frameworks through which environmental crises are acknowledged, measured, and addressed.
